Body Art

 

I have been looking deaply into body art. I love the idea and I think it is very creative. I have done a self portrait of myself in an origional way. Ive not done the obvious 'face' portrait and decided to write about myself on my hand. ^^^

 

 

I then experimented with different parts of the body. I love the idea of lip art its so unusual. I have painted a lady bird onto my lips because in nursery - the peg to hang my coat on had a picture of a lady bird. So I have painted a lady bird to relate it back to me.

 

 

This hand painting is an artist copy of Guido Daniele. 







Anselm Kiefer

I have chosen to use Anselm Kiefer in my project because I love the idea of using two different medias in one piece of art. I think using paint over photographs is really interesting as they are my two favourite types of materials.

Starting The Project

 
To start off my 'Me And My Surroundings' project, we had to bring in 10 items to draw from just to get ourselves in the swing of things after the summer. This was to help us get used to using different medias and textures in our work. One of the items I brought in was a dream catcher, I thought that using white paint and ink together would have a really nice effect.

 

 

Liverpool Biennial

On a college trip, we went to see some of the exhibitions in Liverpool. Some of the art work really inspired me but others I didn't really understand (e.g. woman doing yoga on a television??) I do like video art, I really liked seeing a video following a drunken man in china, it was interesting to watch but I couldn't understand why some of the other videos were classed as art.

I really like this piece, the image looks 3D even though it is not a 3D image. I think its interesting how they have layed an image on top of another one, it's a cleaver idea!

Teesha Moore

I love Teesha Moore's work. She is the artist who has influenced me to use text in my own work. I like the naive childlike style to her work. I feel like if I worked in the same way, and made a mistake, it would be easy to cover up and this way, I would be more confident to express myself without being scared I am going to ruin it.
