Casting

*information on casting will be found in my FMP sketch book*

After I casted, my frame snapped, this was either because I mixed the content of the plaster wrongly, or I didn't add enough in so it was too weak. If I have time I will definitely try this again. 

Helmi Vaga

Born and raised in Wales of Estonian descent, Helmi Vaga is an established British interior designer,providing online interior designer services throughout the UK and world-wide. Working from her own interior design studio, Helmi is based in Monmouthshire, UK.

I thought that I would first start to research into interior designers to start me off and I came across Helmi Vaga. What I found interesting about her is her mood boards. Before she designes a home, she does an online mood board to  show her clients what she has in mind.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



FMP research

To start off my research I am going to just search the web for inspirational items I find.

 

Final Major Project

For my Final Major Project we have had to include a Statement of intent to start us off to basically explain what we are planning to do, our influences techniques and processes and time management. At first I didnt really have any idea of what I could do. So I decided to look through all of my past projects to give me some inspiration. I noticed that most of my projects were of a 'Homely' theme, for example my tiles and my patchwork quilt. So I thought that I could make some more household items like a lamp or a photoframe to hopefully be presented in a mock living room set if I have enough time. I will create a character profile of the type of person I think would live there and try to adapt it to them and what style I think they would have in their home. This idea will give me more experience with my sewing abilities and I feel I will learn a lot about interior designing and I will hopefully begin to understand more about colour matching.
I was influenced by a book I was looking through called 'Homemade Gifts' which shown me a lot of ideas for what I want to do.I intend to research other people's homes, by visiting their houses and taking photographs. I also plan on researching the smaller details like old fashioned pattern and colour.
For this idea I am planning on using a wide range of media and materials, mainly textiles but I am also planning on using photography (when photographing the final piece and when researching other peoples living rooms). I plan of visiting a lot of charity shops to get ideas and maybe to buy something to make into my own work.
I will determine if my work has been successful by asking myself whether it turned out the way I envisaged, if it went worse than expected or better than expected. I also plan on keeping a diary of how I feel my work went everyday to analyse my work.

Editing

I decided to edit some of the photographs from my jewellery photo shoot which will also tie in with my magazine project. To edit this photo was pretty simple. Firstly I duplicated the background to make another layer and I changed this layer to black and white. So now on the black and white layer I used the lasso tool to carefully cut around the bag, I did this is stages to make sure I cut it out perfectly. Once I cut parts out I deleted it which deleted the black and white layer and then the colour photo underneath would show through to make the bag stand out. 

Photoshoot

For my project I have decided I am going to try and do a professional style photoshoot to show my jewellery in the best possible way. I went to a park on a sunny day and photographed my friend wearing the jewellery. I am quite please with the way they turned out considering I have no photography experience.
